My Top 4 Superfoods For Age-Defying Youth!

Here are my top 4 superfoods, you've probably heard of all of them before. I keep my life simple, so basically, I put them in my smoothies when I make them, that way I am getting the best of all four worlds, avocados, aloe vera, coconut oil (you only need a tablespoon for an 8oz glass) and chlorella. I'll try to make a few smoothie videos in the next few weeks or so, well let's make that a month or so, because I'm really enjoying the summer and getting out and about.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera increases collagen production 100% naturally for a youthful, wrinkle-free complexion and plump, beautiful skin. The ultimate Botox in plant form!

The inner gel of the Aloe Vera leaf contains over 75 nutrients with around 200 active compounds. These include 18 amino acids, 12 vitamins, and 20 minerals. Aloe Vera also has anti-microbial properties fighting bacteria, enzymes, and houses anti-inflammatory plant steroids. Aloe Vera boosts the immune system and also aids digestion and elimination. Known for being highly effective at healing, moisturizing, and rejuvenating the skin, Aloe Vera is a good all-around skincare component. Aloe Vera is best eaten fresh when possible, you can get fresh Aloe Vera leaves from ethnic food markets, health food stores, or online. Scrape out the inside gel, blend with fruit for the ultimate beautifying smoothie.

Avocado

Avocado oil is soothing and softening for the skin and easily absorbed and has the highest skin penetration rate. Avocado also contains vitamin E (excellent for the skin), vitamin C, K, B5, B6, Folate, antioxidant carotenoids, and the master antioxidant glutathione that is exceptionally powerful and has anti-carcinogenic potential. A cup of avocado contains 10 grams of fiber, and one cup provides 21 grams of healthy fat, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which help to reduce inflammation, lower heart disease, and has anti-cancer benefits. Avocados have so many benefits, that I consider them a super-food.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil speeds up your metabolism and can help you lose weight. It is also incredibly beautifying and moisturizing for the skin and has antioxidant properties which protect against free-radical damage, keeping the skin youthful and healthy. Taken internally or externally coconut oil is a great ally for any beauty skincare regime. It also contains lauric acid, an anti-microbial fatty acid that kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Chlorella

Chlorella is a green freshwater algae. Chlorella contains up to 50-60% protein and is a complete protein source containing all nine essential amino acids. Rich in antioxidants, iron, vitamins, and minerals. Recent studies have shown its ability to detox the body from heavy metals, which benefits the whole body and the skin. Some studies in Japan have found that chlorella increased the life span of mice by a staggering 30 percent. Chlorella has a sea-like smell and taste, so it’s great in smoothies where the flavor can be disguised by fresh berries, banana, papaya or any fruit of your choice.
