The skin is as we all know is the largest organ on our body. You can hide the skin on your body with clothes but your face is the first thing that people notice about you, and why good skincare practices are important. There are thousands of skincare products on the market claiming to help improve skin tone and promote a flawless complexion, however, there is no such thing as instant results.
Good skincare habits, with persistence and consistency over time will deliver desired results. You might find that during your skincare journey you will have to tweak a product here or there if you find it’s not working for you because as I have discovered one size does not fit all when it comes to skincare. There are so
many variables to consider such as diet, exercise, hormones and water consumption to name a few that may give one-person great results and another person a breakout using the same product. With that in mind, contemplate the following tips with particular consideration to your own uniqueness.
Skin Care Tip 1:
Always use some type of exfoliation product, which will help to remove old skin cells and particles from your skin. This will expose the healthy cells and rid your body from the old ones.
Skin Care Tip 2:
If possible, avoid constant sun exposure and tanning beds. In addition to being dangerous where health is concerned, these may also lead to early signs of aging. There are many natural products that offer UV protection. Everyone loves a suntan, but there is no reason to sacrifice your skin or your health in order to achieve it. Therefore, many individuals opt for a self-tanning lotion instead. Improvements have helped to give self-tanning products a more natural, streak-free look. Moisturize, moisturize, did I say moisturize.
Skin Care Tip 3:
Our lips often go unchecked until they become dry or wrinkled. Well moisturized lips can be easily accomplished by simply applying good old ¹Vaseline, lip balm or a lipstick that is formulated to moisturise the lips. These products are ideal in hot or cold weather whenever lips are parched or chapped.
Skin Care Tip 4:
Dry or cracked skin can be challenging to treat. I have found a warm bath with 1oz of my favourite oil diluted into running bath water and then a 15-20-minute soak can help hydrate the skin. Follow up with an intensive moisturizer of your choice. I like the Aveno brand.
Skin Care Tip 5:
Do not use products that irritate your skin in any way, including soaps that have harsh ingredients. If possible, use a moisturizing soap or that which is designed for sensitive skin.
In addition to these tips, skin care products are available as commercial or prescription-based treatments. A dermatologist is often consulted for matters relating to acne or other skin disorders, especially if they are severe. Many skin care enthusiasts also believe in using plenty of moisturizing body lotion in order to replenish the skins natural moisture, which is often stripped in today’s harsh environment.
